Recycle Electronics
Important:
You MUST be the item's legal owner in order to recycle it with the bookstore. Anyone attempting to recycle an item that has been, or is later
reported to local or state police as stolen will be reported to the police, and prosecuted to the fullest extent possible. Attempting to recycle
stolen electronics at the Highline Bookstore may also result in civil legal action against you.

|
(Only items on the green list are accepted, if your item doesn't appear on either list you may call the bookstore for more information)
The amount of credit you can receive for an item depends upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to:
- How old it is
- The condition it is in
- Whether you bring all original components (e.g. chargers, power cables, controllers, etc.)
- Processor type/power (laptops)
- Whether the unit still works
We are only able to receive electronics during the hours of 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday, or by appointment. To schedule an appointment to come drop off your
electronics outside of these hours, please email us.
Once you bring the item into the store, we will use an online system provided through D&H to calculate an estimated credit value.
The actual amount of credit you receive will depend upon the accuracy with which the information is entered into the D&H system, but may also depend
upon circumstances beyond our control that could affect the value of the item after we receive it, but before we are granted the credit by D&H. We
will make every possible effort to ensure that you receive the maximum value for your item, as well as a value estimate that is as accurate as possible.
Unfortunately, neither the bookstore nor the college can be responsible for whether you receive what is perceived to be a "fair price," nor for changes
in item value that occur after we have received your equipment.
If we are unable to offer you any credit for an item brought in for recycling, we will still accept it from you so long as it is an approved item for D&H.
For example, if you bring in a completely broken cellphone that was manufactured in 1987, we probably won't be able to obtain a credit on your behalf, but we
won't make you carry the item back out, either.
